Who will have access to my information?
Once you create a password-protected account, you will be the only one with access to your purchase information and lab test results, with the exception of our independent doctor network, "PWNHealth". PWNHealth will only disclose your personal information to medical providers and labs used to provide services, who are required to keep such information confidential, and to the extent required by law. Your results may also be disclosed to your state health department to the extent required by law. In addition, your results will not be shared with your doctor unless you decide to share them and add them to your medical records. For additional information, please review the privacy policy here.
All communications about our service are sent with the utmost regard for discretion. The term STD does NOT appear on your test results email, your credit card statement, or any other documentation sent to you throughout the process.
If you test positive, you will receive a call from PWNHealth's care coordination team. If you answer the phone, a care representative will confirm your identity before disclosing any results. If you do not answer the phone, they will leave you a voice message asking you to contact them. The voice message will not include sensitive information.
03.
I think I've been exposed to an STD. How soon should I get tested?
Getting tested at the right time is important. If you test too soon after exposure, you may not get accurate results. The development time of an STD can vary depending on the incubation period, the person infected, and the type of disease. If you're unsure about the best time to get tested for a specific STD, give PWNHealth's care coordination team a call at (855) 999-3358. They are available to guide you Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time and Saturday-Sunday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pacific Time. You can also leave a message after hours and they will call you back as soon as possible.
04.
If I test positive for an STD, what should I do?
If you test positive, PWNHealth's care coordination team will attempt to contact you via phone to review your results. Specifics of your condition will be provided, as well as how to communicate your status to partners, and where to find more information. You will also be able to arrange a telehealth consultation with a PWNHealth-affiliated physician at no additional cost. You can speak with the doctor by phone or video chat, depending on your state's regulations, and the doctor may be able to prescribe medication for you to pick up at your local pharmacy.
